An October newsletter mentioned Futaba’s attendance at the annual NAFCD + NBMDA convention. This year’s conference was held in Colorado Springs, CO. To no surprise, the weather was cold, but the annual forum was warm and inviting. Something that is attributed to the people in attendance and the hosting organizations, directly.
The main benefit of this specific exhibition is the face-to-face interaction with existing and potential customers. The structure for these meetings is akin to speed dating, each customer meeting is allotted 20 minutes. Although the time is short, the return is seen in the follow-up.
Another favorite part of the schedule is the ITR Economics talk. Brian Beaulieu has been their keynote speaker for years now. He has consistently maintained an objective analysis of the United States’ economy, ignoring political agendas. ITR exceeds in aggregating numerous points of data related to the global economy. Then, boiling down the extra fat and serving an easily digestible presentation for the non-experts. For those interested, you can go to their YouTube channel here.
The convention offers more beyond these highlights. The Emerging Leadership program and other keynote speakers are a couple more features worth mentioning. For more information on these, it’s recommended to visit the official annual convention website or NBMDA’s website.
50 Lb Light-Duty Hydraulic Slide “Easy Down”
Our new “Easy Down” slide is a fresh and innovative space-saving solution for both kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Here are the main features to look at:
- Built-in top mount concealed hinge for ¾” panels *
- Length: 14” (350 mm)
- Height: 1-3/8” (35.3 mm)
- Packaging: 5 pairs/box
This slide allows the cabinet door to swing up and open, followed by the door concealing itself above the cabinet. Then, the hydraulic dampers let the cabinet door close softly and quietly.
See the video below to better understand how the slide works.
Recently, a well-established trend of concealed hardware was brought back into the world of furniture. The product we introduced in the previous section is a key component of this trend. It is specifically designed to work with concealed hardware cabinets, making it an ideal choice for those who value both functionality and aesthetics. Moreover, this trend fits perfectly into the “Modern and Minimalistic” interior style discussed in our October issue.
Eliminating visible hardware from the front of cabinets creates a seamless and organic look that is highly sought after. In addition to aesthetics, this choice provides several significant advantages:
- Provides less access to the cabinet’s drawer, for children specifically.
- Lessens the likelihood of injury from bumping into or catching something on handle.
- The lack of visible hardware simplifies cleaning and saves time.

A Positive Outlook on the Global Cabinet Market’s Future
The cabinet market, as a global entity, should continue to grow from now until 2027. The increase is estimated to be as much as $22.6 billion. Certainly, this market expansion sounds excellent; however, prices for raw materials remain volatile and may potentially hinder these predictions.
Recently, the above conclusions were derived from a market report. It suggests various retail channels, both online and offline, continue to spread their influence. A result of the internet being more accessible than ever. Large companies are embracing the demand for online convenience. The launch of new online shops and e-commerce platforms will steadily ramp-up in response.
The global cabinet market has further segments within itself. Specifically, the kitchen cabinet segment is highlighted in the article. The report found this segment should be expected to benefit the most during the period of growth.
